| SCHEDULING YA PROGRAMS AND RESIDENCIES Scheduling as early as possible for the entire school year is recommended.
Please complete a scheduling worksheet before contacting our office.
Be prepared to tell us what programs you are interested in, several dates which would work for you, the grade level and size of the audience or classes, and the source of funding for the program(s) and /or residencies.
Study guides An arts integrated study guide accompanies each residency/program. This guide provides strategies in which each Young Audiences program can be used to meet TEKS standards in classroom instruction.
Availability of Artists Our artists are either local, from within the state of Texas, or are national touring artists. Sometimes we can get the exact dates you request, but in some cases we can let you know when the artists will be available in our area and coordinate that information and your scheduling needs. If you have special interests, we can also provide artists from other Young Audiences rosters.
Policies and Payment Once your program(s) is scheduled, you will receive a confirmation invoice. One to three weeks prior to the program you will receive additional information, including study guides. If you need these guides sooner, please let the office know in advance. Evaluation forms will be provided at the time of the performance or residency.
Please know that Young Audiences’ policy mandates that the teacher is to be present during the entire program or residency. Should the teacher leave, the artist is instructed also to leave.
Payment is expected immediately following a performance or residency. Payments should always be made out to and sent to the Young Audiences office, as the artists are not authorized to accept any payments.
•Confirmed programs are considered binding.
•Should an artist be prevented from performing due to illness, weather, etc., schools may reschedule, substitute, or receive full credit.
•Confirmed programs cancelled by the school with less than one week’s notice will be billed at the full price due to YA’s commitment to the artist, unless the program can be rescheduled.
