Mother Goose and Friends

Tyler, Texas

Grades: PreK-4

Assembly Performances

Popular children’s entertainers Felicity Enas, Evelyn James, and Frances Whiteside enchant audiences with rhymes, riddles, songs, and tongue twisters as Mother Goose and her friends clown their way through Nursery Rhyme land.  Childhood favorites come alive when familiar characters help Mother Goose meet challenges along her journeys. The three artist/educators introduce students to literature, song, rhythm, math, and spatial concepts, using their years in education and onstage to engage their audiences in entertaining interactive theater experiences. Choose from the following stories:

“Mother Goose Loses Her Marbles”

Mother Goose meets Little Bo Peep, Miss Muffet, Humpty Dumpty, and other characters as she treks through the Land of Nursery Rhymes searching for her lost marbles. Students are introduced to literature, song, and math skills as they help Mother Goose and her friends act out their stories.

“Mother Goose Goes to Market”

Mother Goose travels to market to fill her basket with good things to eat and meets Simple Simon, Jack Sprat, Peter Piper, and other characters from the Land of Nursery Rhymes.  Students help Mother Goose and her friends act out their stories as they learn about good nutrition habits, memory skills, literature, and song.

“Mother Goose Pumps It Up”

Mother Goose decides to get in shape and heads to the gym! Along the way to her workout, she has to go around the mulberry bush, row-row-row her boat, and swim with swans across the sea. Students are introduced to literature, song, and body movement while they “pump it up” with Mother Goose and her friends.

“Mother Goose Meets the Big Cheese”

Mother Goose gets tossed in a basket up to the Moon where she finds everything is bigger than expected. She meets the Farmer in the Dell, the Three Blind Mice, and the Cow who Jumped over the Moon while she tries to find her way back home. Students are introduced to literature, song, and spatial concepts while they help Mother Goose and her friends return to Earth.
