“Animalia”

Grades: 1-6

If you like animals and music, you are in luck! Mercury Baroque will combine your love for the two and bring it to your school in a performance of H.I.F. Biber’s Sonata Representiva. This piece takes the audience on an imaginary tour of a farm. The violin, cello, and harpsichord portray the sounds of various barnyard animals. Hear the soothing sound of the coo-coo, the purring and meowing of the cat, and everyone’s favorite - the croaking of the frog. Use you imagination to guess the animal by the sound, and then find out fun facts about the instruments.

Performance Cost: $950 for two back-to-back performances

Audience limit: 325 per performance

Performance length: 45 minutes per performance
