“Soldiers of the American Revolution, 1775 to 1783”

 Study Guides

Today’s Americans find it difficult to comprehend the difficulties patriots of the American Revolution endured. This performance begins by presenting the dress of a fully equipped British soldier.  After each item of the uniform and equipment is explained, the uniform is contrasted with the typical early and late American Continental soldier’s garb.  John Keahey uses historically accurate uniforms to illustrate the reality of the life of a Revolutionary soldier.

Single Performance Cost: $225

The diversity of Texan uniforms is then contrasted with the elaborate European-style uniform of a Mexican foot soldier illustrating obstacles Texans faced in their battle for freedom.

Single Performance Cost: $225

Back-to-back Performance Cost: $325

Performance length: 45 minutes

“Soldiers of the American Civil War, 1861 to 1865”

 Study Guides

A defining moment in the history of the United States, the American Civil War was also the first modern war. This presentation begins with a display of the full uniform and equipment of the typical Union soldier and concludes with a presentation of the dress of the common Confederate soldier. These examples offer a study in contrast between the higher quality of the Union soldier’s equipment and the “make do” characteristics of the Confederacy’s fighters.

Single Performance Cost: $225

Back-to-back Performance Cost: $325

Performance length: 45 minutes

Audience limit: 60
