A recognized leader in the Native American community, Joe is the grandson of the last living World War II European Theater code talker. Dressed in traditional Native American regalia and his grandfather’s military jacket and medals, Joe uses storytelling, photographs and a multimedia presentation to give students an idea of his grandfather’s early life as a Native American. These insights makes even more compelling his explanation of the important role that many Native Americans played in providing communication between Allied command posts during World War II.
Students also learn from and enjoy his display of war memorabilia.
