“A Visit with Queen Elizabeth I”

Residency with Student Performance

In this two-day residency, British born actress Felicity Enas brings the Elizabethan Age to life as she leads students in an exploration of the culture, customs, dance, music, foods, clothing, and literature of the period. During Ms. Enas’ first visit, students will learn fascinating details about the Elizabethan era and will be given assignments to research for the second part of the residency. For the second visit scheduled two weeks later, Ms. Enas appears as Queen Elizabeth I herself and is “entertained” by the court (class) with their prepared reports, readings, clothing, food, and music. In the character of Queen Elizabeth I,

Ms. Enas will bring the Elizabethan era to life for students in way they will never forget.

Residency Cost: $150 per class (up to 5 class groups can be scheduled per day)                       

Participant limit: 30 per class                                                                                                                                                                          

Residency length: Two 45-minute sessions (sessions should be scheduled two weeks apart)

Assembly performance:

Ms. Enas will appear in costume as Queen Elizabeth I and will discuss her life as one of Britain’s most influential monarchs.

Assembly Performance Cost: $175

“Playing Around”

Grades: 4-7

Residency with Student Performance

“Playing Around”, adapted from the Arts for Learning “From the Page to the Stage” residency, engages students in the process of becoming the cast of a Story Theatre Troupe. Students will design and perform a production that includes tableau (active freezes), narration, dialogue, props, and movement adapted from the text of a fairytale or folk tale. This three-day residency is lead by well-known theatre artist and educator Felicity Enas and engages students as scriptwriters, designers, directors, choreographers, and storytellers in the creation of a dramatic Story Theatre presentation. Ms. Enas will work with classroom teachers to select the fairytale or folk tale to be presented and will customize the residency to help achieve individual classroom goals.

 Residency Cost: $225 per class group

Supply Fee: $2 per child               

Participant limit: 25 per class                                                                                                                                          

Residency length: 3 days, 45 minutes daily per class

 

Up to 5 classes may be scheduled per day at $225 per class.
