Since 1997, Young Audiences of Northeast Texas, one of 5 affiliates in Texas, has been dedicated to bringing quality arts-in-education experiences into northeast Texas schools. We have a roster of teaching artists who provide performances, workshops and residencies in visual art, performing and theater arts, music and the literary arts.

Young Audiences of Northeast Texas provides:
  • Opportunities for schools, communities, educators and families to engage in the Arts together;
  • Programs for all age group and curriculums;
  • Study guides for each performance to maximize the connection between the program and school curriculum;
  • Opportunities for active learning;
  • Highly trained artists to engage students in diverse programs;
  • Professional development for teachers on teaching in and through the arts;
  • FUN AND EDUCATION!
This year YANET, along with the Tyler Independent School District, was selected as one of 14 teams nationwide to attend the John F. Kennedy Center Partners in Education Institute. This honor is in recognition of our quality of work as well as the potential to develop or expand professional development programs for teachers.

The goal of these professional development programs is to develop teachers’ knowledge of the arts and empower them to use the Arts in their classrooms, assuring a place for the Arts in education!
